New to Vedic astrology?

Vedic astrology (Jyotish) uses the sidereal zodiac, about 24° from the tropical zodiac of Western astrology, so your signs usually move back by one. No background is needed - these four words cover most of a first reading:

  • Lagna - your rising sign, which sets the twelve houses
  • Chandra Rashi - your Moon sign, the sign Indian astrology leads with
  • Nakshatra - one of 27 lunar mansions; yours is the Moon's
  • Dasha - the planetary period you are living through, used for timing

Born in Hong Kong? Your birth time

Give the time on the birth certificate. Hong Kong has kept UTC+8 without summer time since 1980, but it used summer time (UTC+9) in most years from 1946 to 1976 and again in 1979, typically from spring to October, and ran on Tokyo time during the Japanese occupation of 1941 to 1945. A birth in those summers was recorded an hour ahead of standard time; give it exactly as written and the offset in force is applied during calculation.

What clients in Hong Kong ask about

Readings in Sindhi and Hindi

Hong Kong's Indian community includes long-established Sindhi trading families. Sessions can run fully in Sindhi or Hindi, so elders can follow the reading and ask their own questions.

Vedic astrology next to Chinese astrology

Many people in Hong Kong grew up with BaZi and the Chinese almanac. Jyotish is a separate system: it works from the exact birth minute and place, the sidereal positions of the planets and Dasha periods, so it adds a different lens rather than repeating one you know.

Staying, or the next move

Whether to stay in Hong Kong or move to Singapore, the UK, Canada or back to India is a common question. The 4th, 9th and 12th houses, read with your running Dasha, show when a move is supported and when to consolidate.

Business, trade and finance careers

Opening a company, changing firms or taking a regional role: career readings judge timing from the 10th house of work, the 11th of gains and your current Dasha.

Marriage and matching

Kundali matching between partners in Hong Kong, India or elsewhere covers Ashtakoot guna milan, Manglik status and long-term compatibility, with both families welcome on the call.

Saturn's demanding years

Sade Sati and the Saturn return often coincide with years of pressure at work or at home. A reading shows when the period started, when it eases and what it is asking of you.

Questions from Hong Kong

What Hong Kong time are sessions available?
Because Hong Kong is 2.5 hours ahead of India, sessions usually run from your late morning to late at night. The booking calendar shows every open slot in Hong Kong time.
I was born in Hong Kong in the 1950s, 60s or 70s. Is my birth time affected?
Possibly. Hong Kong used summer time in most years from 1946 to 1976 and in 1979. Give the time exactly as recorded and the one-hour shift is applied during calculation if it was in force on that date.
Can the reading be in Sindhi or Cantonese?
Sindhi, yes - and Hindi, Gujarati, Rajasthani, Urdu and English. Cantonese and Mandarin are not offered.
Do I need to know Vedic astrology? How is it different from Western astrology?
No background is needed - every term is explained as the reading goes, and the site has a glossary of Vedic astrology terms. Vedic astrology (Jyotish) uses the sidereal zodiac, measured against the fixed stars, while Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac tied to the equinoxes. The two currently sit about 24 degrees apart, so most of your planets, often including the Sun, fall one sign earlier in a Vedic chart. Jyotish also puts more weight on the Moon sign, the 27 Nakshatras (lunar mansions) and Dasha periods, which is how it times events. If you know Chinese astrology, note that Jyotish does not use the animal year: it reads the planets' positions at your exact birth time and place.
Which consultation should I start with?
If you have one clear question - a job offer, a relationship, whether this is a good year to move - start with Ask One Question, a short live session in which your chart is read before the call so the whole time goes to your answer. For a complete picture of career, relationships, money and timing, book the Full Birth Chart Analysis.
How will I know the fee before I pay?
The booking page shows the fee for the consultation you pick, in the currency set for your country (your local currency or US dollars), before you pay. Nothing is charged until you confirm, and fees are not published elsewhere on the site.
Can I reschedule if something comes up?
Yes. Rescheduling is free up to 24 hours before your session - reply to the confirmation email or send a WhatsApp message. Fees are non-refundable, so if a date stops working, move it rather than miss it.
